Aglio olio Peperoncino (Spaghetti with garlic oil red pepper)

Ingredients:
2 ts crushed red pepper
4 garlic cloves
3 tbs olive oil
1 lb prawns
2 -4 cups of any spinach like green (we used Pakchoy and Asian Spinach)
3 tbs of chopped parsley
15 grape tomatoes
1/2 a pack of spaghetti

Preparation:
Saute the crushed red pepper and garlic in the olive oil in a small frying pan over low heat. When the garlic is golden and the pepper dark brown, add chopped parsley, tomatoes and prawns. Cook pasta one minute prior to package directions (ex. package says 10 mins cook time, your cook time will be 9 mins) save 1/2 cup of pasta water, drain the pasta thoroughly and pour pasta into the pan of seasoned olive oil and add greens, pour 1/2 cup of pasta water into pan. Bring the flavored olive oil to a high heat until pasta is well mixed with garlic pepper sauce. Serve immediately.

  2. Shelly- we are excited. It's going to be slow to develop a large list but as time goes on we will generate a pretty nice list of some cool recipes that can be made, using the freshiest of ingredients. And Greek food Rocks!!!

  4. Oh, and PS you can make homemade noodles w/ your eggs... we did and it was like no other noodle we've ever had. I found a pasta maker on Craigslist for $20 - it does fettucini, spaghetti and something else. Anyway, store bought pasta is a thing of the past in our house. And, pasta cooks faster when it's fresh, not dehydrated. Just thought I'd toss that out there. :)

  5. You would think I'd ask all the questions BEFORE posting a comment, sheesh! Sorry. I've been wondering what camera you use. I'm on the hunt for a new digital camera and I like your images. thanks.

  6. Melissa- LMAO- thanks for the pasta reccomendation. MAking our pasta is definately part of the plan. I will look online at some of those pasta makers. We look forward to posting some of our own pasta dishes made from our own eggs, that is going to be awesome.

The soup photo is something that my wife and I kind of put together. There is spinach, can of garbonzo beans, corn, petite diced tomatoes, chicken stock, and sausage meat, we used jimmy dean and dressed the top with shredded cheese. It was one of those hearty quick meals that we put together and it was absolutely fabulous. We love soups, chilli and chowders and make a few different types. Were always experimenting.

The camera I use is a Nikon D40. Hands down is one of the best cameras on the market for the price. I use to develop my own pics in my darkroom with a regular 35mm and I was a bit hesitant to buy a digital to replace my dinosaur of a camera. But the D40 has many options for me, if i just want to point and shoot put on auto, take dramatic pics put it on manual and set the apperture settings myself to get the feel for what I like in a photograph. Canon makes some really good ones also if you a partial to canon. Just do some research and see what is comparable to the D40, but remember for the money you get more than what you pay for shooting with the D40. Thanks for your comments.
